Materialising unbidden from the gloom of late-20th-century Sheffield, Anizo (aka Fraser Pirie) draws on the impotent rage and despair permeating the modern world in the face of societal disintegration and technological ascendancy, fusing dancefloor-smashing energy with melancholic rumination to create a sound that's as emotive as it is aggressive.
After many years spent privately sharpening his production chops and honing his uniquely relentless style with a series of self-releases, Anizo kicked down the doors of the neurofunk scene in 2024 with his debut on Stonx Music: a savagely belligerent statement of intent, gaining immediate notice and support from industry legends old and new. The work is darkly abrasive and fiercely energetic whilst always remaining grounded in pensive musicality.
Releases have been coming at unstoppable pace as Anizo continues to experiment and evolve his sound and he enters 2025 with a full roster of new tracks and sights set firmly on the upper echelons of the scene.
